It was a divergent month for global stockmarkets over November. Apart from the US and Japan, other Developed Market equities lost ground over the month largely driven by risk-off sentiment. It was a similar story for Asian and Emerging Market equities, whose strong performance was largely checked over the month, with the exception of China where a robust earnings season buoyed investors. Commodities enjoyed a good month overall, in particular energy and gold, with the former price boosted by a reduction in supply and the latter price rising due to increased risk aversion towards month end.
